“The Hobbyist Miner”
In today’s video I build my First CPU Mining Rig! I have been GPU Mining and ASIC Mining Bitcoin for a few years now. But never really got into Crypto Mining with a dedicated CPU Mining Rig. In this video we will go through my CPU Mining Parts List, Hardware and More! This will be a Begineers…

CPU mining is way better than GPU mining at the moment. I have about 21 rigs deployed right now, 3900’s and up.
Welcome to the dark side.
the cooler came with the cpu lol
Don't use need to setting disable look for GPU? on mainboard? then you can take the GPU out
I hope you are mining with your 5950x when you aren’t producing.
For simplicity purposes id probably stick with nicehash… not that hive is difficult, but i just find nicehash easier/faster for me to get going… love the rig… not bad for a first one… look forward to seeing more! 60c shouldn't be a problem.. my r5 3600 has a top temp of 90c before it throttles or shuts down.
I deal with cable management, I by throwing it away in a crawl space and forget about it.
the downside is with all the FOMO pay rate is tanking.
Great video! Always good info – havent cpu mined since I turned off my monero rigs couple yrs ago but will have to put my 5900 and 5950 to work now!! I did a quick search but curious if anyone can point me to a cpu hashrate guide that is current?
Have a bunch of 5600Gs, 5700Gs and 11700k and 12700k – about 15-20 sitting around collecting dust and all with brand new motherboards I was going to sell but curious if its worth it to break those out after Im done with the 5900s…. is it reaching trying to find profit in those older cpus
bruh i heard that having a case is better cause it cools the cpu?
If your gonna be building cpu rigs get yourself a non-powered card that way you don't have to attach cables that will be removed once rig is set up, This only applies to 3000 and 5000 series cpus as they don't have on board graphics.
These are the two m.2 ssd's I use for cpu rigs:
Netac NV3000 250GB SSD 250GB Internal NVMe SSD Solid State Drive M.2 2280mm PCIe3.0 3D NAND with Heat Sink
Patriot P300 M.2 PCIe Gen 3 x4 128GB Low-Power Consumption SSD
Downclock that 3900x to use less wattage/save power and your golden
Love the vids bro. You have came a loooonnnnggg way!! Keep it up as awlays.
gigabyte bios is best. you can just type 36 enter for clock ratio.
vcore is under advanced voltages, or amd CBS/PBS. you definitely want to enter that as the VDD is still on auto, and appx 20w higher than it could be at that hashrate. I recently did a stream tweaking a 3900X for mining if curious.
turn off cool&quiet too.
XMP (and Im controvercial in saying this) should not be on. set mem to 2400mhz 1.2V. saves power and loses next to no hashrate. if you are pushing for highest hashrate power be damned XMP does then matter.
4G decoding not necessary for CPU rig
under 90c is fine for temp.
132WATTS your nuts 😂 and it's under clocked….take your volts off auto and set it to 1 maybe 1.065 volts and put your clock to 3900 you should get 13500h at 110w
It's for the fan the wire and make sure you turn the little switch on the fan on high and the cables is a pain in the dick
