“Modern Mining”

Today I am getting prepped to expand my Cryptocurrency mining farm to prepare to buy more graphics cards for mining. GPU Mining profits are on the rise and now is a great time to start expanding the farm! I already have all the extra components to expand my farm including power supplies, risers…

  1. I just managed to buy this month 2 secondhand gigabyte caming oc 3080 for 350€ each, and mining kawpaw at full overclock i get 51 mh/s at 290w and temps stay below 60º and memory one is at 105ºC and the other around 98ºC. I bought a copper plate for vram off of aliexpress to add to these gpus to see if i can lower the temperature 🙂

  2. So when buying GPUs does one have to watch out for LHR anymore or is that restriction only with Eth Hash?
Half of my existing cards have LHR, and it looks like some of yours are too?
    LMK what you guys think…

  3. The Dell 3080 may just need some thermal paste done and it should perform better than stock and not too far off other 3080s. I used to own all kinds of GPU, specifically the 3080s and some just hashes a little bit more than others with the same settings. If you can find some cheap 2080s they're not that bad either just very old at this point, but I was able to buy an average of $150-175 a piece depending on the card.

  4. Are you looking into amd or 4000 series? I got 8x 3060 ti, 8x 3070, 6600xt with 3900x cpu and 4070 with 3900x cpu. I don’t know if expanding is good idea for my situation . I might just double dca and put cash from work and mine coin I like

  5. Hey man! Question on GPUs. I’ve noticed there is quite the price variance between 3070s for example. The MSI Ventus 2x 3070 is consistently $75 cheaper than the 3070 FE. Is there a reason, for the purpose of mining, to buy 3070 FE over the msi cards?

  6. Man I really love the channel and your mining farm is more my speed, with 3 rigs and your D.I.Y. style. Your 100% right, $ not spent on hashrate is $ down the drain, unless its required to get more hashrate! We all love Panda, but its nice to have a creator that has the same amount of rigs as the average miner (me included), and I look forward to growing my farm as you grow yours, brother! ✌

  7. I stay away from anything gddr6x. Keep in mind summer will be hell to keep them cool.
Currently have 14x 3070, 2x3080ti, 3x 5900x..these alone keep my whole house warm during the winter.
I can expand but that would mean I gotta pay more electricity so I'm good for now

  8. I would of probably expanded vertically, like stacking. In case you do even more expansion in the future. You can get those 4way splitters to work on the 1X pcie slots. I have 11 gpus on a 6 slot board. They are pain but it runs stable.

  9. This is just an FYI on adding additional GPUs to the motherboard, please ignore if I'm speaking to the choir. Having additional physical slots does not equate to the CPU having the capability to run more than 8 GPUs. There has to be enough available PCIe lanes in the CPU and the board to support it. For instance, a 4 way PCIe splitter will fit in a 1x slot but it's still using 4 PCIe lanes given you have 4 GPUs connected. Many cheap consumer motherboards paired with cheap Celerons won't support more than 6-8 GPUs because there's an upper limit on the available lanes. I'm not sure what board/CPU combos you have so you might be able to squeeze a few more in there. You can always test it out by adding some of your other GPUs to it before you buy them.

  10. Nice setup. I've built my first mining rig with a custom wood frame. They do work great and have nice appeal to them when complete & mining on them. I also have a nvidia rig with a steel frame. I like them both.

Looks like you could get away with keeping those GPUs closer together. Also, you probably don't need to have the 120mm fans blowing on them. Up to you though and your temps.

I bet your getting close to double what I can make a day on RVN with my 24 GPUs ($5.40/per/day)

  11. Have you considered the CMP mining cards?!?!
Im considering throwing some CMP 50HX's in my rig, along side my 3060's….
Their hashrate, atleast on Alephium (since thats what im mining), is actually better than a 3060. and the CMP 50HX cards are like $180 used…
Im seriously considering that option myself…

    RTX 3060 on ALPH – 0.93 gh/s – $230+ price range….
    CMP 50HX on ALPH – 1.21gh/s – $180…..

  12. I love the DIY frames. You are certainly ahead of the game saving money vs buying cases thus shorting ROI. I had to switch to cases because of heat. Cases cost more but keep my little workers significantly happier temp and thus hashrate wise.

  13. Hi @ModernMiningHub,

I would like to ask you. I am dual mining ALPH+ZIL and I am getting only half of the hashrate compared to what you are getting for ZIL. These are my OC –cclock [1]340 –lock-cclock [1]1380,1470,1380 –lock-mclock [1]810 –mclock [2]1250 –lock-cclock [2]1400 –lock-mclock [2]X –zil on

Can you please help me? I am using 3060ti and 3060.

    Thank you.

  14. I kind of disagree with you mentality of everything that you spend should be for hashrate. You gotta make sure that your safe from fires and sometimes that means spending more on cables, power supplies etc. Also making sure that your gpus run such that they dont degrade too fast is better than just running them full throttle. I know you already know this, I’m just commenting for other people.
Also, that specific dell 3080 listing has been there for a long time (roughly a month or more), so i dont know how good of a deal it is…

  15. I had 5 3080 from Omen prebuilt pc, they were horrible. The 3080 version didn’t even had thermal pads. Some didn’t even get 94mh because of thermal throttle

  16. get some 6800XT or 5700XT if you wanna mine KAWPOW… i wasnt a fan of AMD cards till i got 4x5700XTs…. they been switching through KAWPOW coins, made ROI in 6 months!
