  1. Wait, the box with the shell writing… Is a 37mm gun box? The M1 37mm was a well made mobile anti-tank gun made by Bofors during WW2. Surely repurposed for use down the mine (the box not the gun lol). Great video again mate.

  2. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ @35:2035:30. There's a tiny flash of light. Then it appears goes towards Laura then disappears just before her leg. I saw bugs and all during the talk but I had to re watch that part 6x to figure out what it was. Orbs. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜€ Great vid gang.

  3. At 19:00 there's your proof that work was done here at least into the 70s. MESA (Mining Enforcement and Safety Administration) was MSHA's predecessor and existed from 1973 to 1977 or 1978. I have a 1977 underground haul truck with a MESA approval plate.

  4. Underground carpentry like that is largely a lost art in the US. You're getting me excited – our conventional rail mine (currently flooded to just below the 50 level) may be pumped out and resume operation later this year. Nearly all of its infrastructure is timber, it will be great to see it again! In the meantime, we're pushing to get our rubber-tire decline mine into production.

  5. Just an amazing amount of hard labor that goes into underground mining, and this mine really shows it, with all the materials that go into the mine in order to get the valuable pay dirt back out! Always enjoy what you discover Gly. Be safe and keep up the great work!!!

  6. When you were talking about going up those ladders and having to take breaks, I know what you mean, that is why I chose my youtube name. Be safe, and I'm looking forward to all the rope work!

  7. I really love that you don't publicize the location of every one of these to help preserve them. Although I love seeing how the hills look so I can see what the miners saw that lead them there, I would rather them not end up trashed by people with no respect for the history and the people who dug these mines.

Everyone LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and HIT THE BELL, but don't forget to SHARE so new eyes see this to help Gly out.

  8. Forgot to mention! I was surprised by all the DYNOMITE in that cart!! Be very careful!, I see no virtue in the first hand accout in the instant development of an open pit mine… FROM THE BOTTOM! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜

  9. 25:42 The words straddle a green vertical stripe (from a packing strap?):
    26 | ROUNDS
    COMPLETE SHELL | ?HASTC?
    WITH | TRACER
    FOR 37MM. | AUTO GUN M3
    37MM. GUN | SHELL
(The M3 may refer to the variant mounted on a M3 Halftrack vehicle.)

  10. As always Gly and Laura, another excellent adventure, thank you for the explore share, … Till the next. Take care and stay safe. โ›โš’โ›๐ŸŽฉJekyll the Hyde.

  11. Hey you. Iโ€™m ganna challenge you to explore bells cavern. You might have to lose 100 pounds though, because I had to drag my backpack with my foot and a leash through some of the holes that opens up into a huge open area, and just followed by over 26 other holes that lead you into the interns of a cavern inside of the mountain. Here in Colorado this is a normal open cave. it used to be a rock mine look into it you might be interested. I have actually camped inside this cavern overnight. You and Laura might really like it.

  12. You took us to the lowest level. Some dead things around, but a nice, clean open adet so far. Wow! thats alot of wood timbering….very solid. At 23:02, what beautiful mineral colors. Thats alot of still intact glass light bulbs, unusual. Those miners sure put in alot of sweat & strength getting all those timbers in place. Sure looks solid. Boy, mining was a hard job and this was in the 50's!! As many ladders that you have climbed in four yrs., and always with one hand on rungs and one hand carrying your kimbel camera. You are something!! GO GET UM! and thanks for all that you have shared with us.

  13. "laura il get you to go ahead of me"….yep if anything falls down you,ll get it first….lol, Its a joke folks…..always great videos Gly…some of those timbers where huge, some very big trees were sacrified to keep these miners safe…

  14. Nine lives? Man, you need 99 ๐Ÿ˜‰ Liked the Outro very much. It's good to remind us of how awkward it is to haul that big camera around. It's bad enough on those ladders without doing it one-handed, too ๐Ÿ˜ฎLaura, since you're the "scale model" how tall are you if you don't mind my asking? It's gotta be hard to learn to interact with a camera like it was a person. You did a great job today ๐Ÿ‘
Gly, playlists look good. Maybe do another one covering Bob' sagas, drones and any other gear related stuff. Speaking of which, I don't think you've ever done a "gear list" video? Climbing equipment, cameras, drones, water and supplies, monitors, etc. Oh and how you came up with that vest setup you wear. There's been bits and pieces but it would be cool to have it all covered in one place ๐Ÿ™ Great vid again and stay safe you two!

Also, this showed up in my feed today. Somebody needs to talk to this kid. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cVdhxWbIp8c

  15. Hello Gly and Laura, Without revealing too much, can you give some commentary on the forest/timber type in the area? Is there any larger Ponderosa pine? Is it all cut over or smaller trees? I'm trying to get some idea about the logistics of sourcing all that timber. There seemed to be a distinct lack of any pole material. It was virtually all sawn. As I commented last week, I'm guessing it was sawn at a small mill, possibly on site from larger diameter logs.

The rails of that size are joined with splice bars. The two bolt bars are something I haven't seen before, dave

  16. Hello Gly and Laura nice seeing the 2 of you as a team exploring on these adventures .p.s. It's been at least 2 or more months getting fire wood for the years to come any way keep your eyes and ears on the look out be safe .๐Ÿ™โค๏ธโ›๏ธ Thank you i will be back .I do miss your adventures
