Surprised you haven’t played helldivers yet or has he? Might’ve missed it
Drae you missed on getting the artifact from the drop pod from your first drop pod your first you need to touch/go through the drop pod to get an artifact.
Secondly focus on the Pickup range, Health Regen, Mining speed, and Movement speed upgrades for your meta progression upgrades to make your runs easier each time between runs and in the levels collet/mine all the meta progression ores & minerals you can find and get.
Having a lot of a certain meta progression item is fine since you can always sell them at the meta progression shop to get credits for the resources you sell and then use the credits for other resources needed for upgrade purchases.
I remember Drae did original DRG years ago, that's how I actually got introduced to the game. I hope he will check it out someday again, there's so much new stuff.

I've seen other people commented but you should totally play the original game on your alternate channel! Never heard anybody that hasn't had a good time playing it.
