So how does this ore get "oxidized" this deep underground? The mines that I am familiar with are markedly less oxidized the deeper you go. Could it be that enough oxygen was in water that percolated down from surface water sources?
I don't understand you can't speed the hoist up. That mine is huge and would have easily used stacked cages or multiple shafts.
I would rent a bobcat and really tear it up! Let the tools do the labor. You’ll get more and it’s worth the fost of renting it.

In my mine area, when you find the yellow/orange clay; there is gold associated with it. lots of water would turn it into slurry and it would flow easier than any other color of clay.

Interesting material at bottom of pan could it be platina “little silver" ? or from the platinum group? I am from a hard rock mining area (Nickel Copper) and material looks similar

The maps are both interesting and helpful.
One thing I can think with the gold articles is they could have been miner "bait" articles, to get more workers to come out to work the mines. Definitely worth investigating, but I'd take it with a grain of salt

The purple rock almost looks like Amethyst that crystalized with a lot of impurities. The maps are awesome, gives context to what we are seeing.
