  1. Graeme how come you didn't let me use a hammer when I was on your mine tour. Would've saved me getting all blistered up looking for those damned pineapples on my knees mate. I could've done a quicker job of it with the Makita.

  2. Seeing how desiccated the strata are in this mine, I'm beginning to think that the jeweler on Guam who told us we needed to keep our opals near a source of humidity was subscribing to an urban myth. My late wife kept fancy salt cellars filled with water in the curio cabinet, because of this.

  3. Congratulations with the pineapple 'plate'. Really cool. Sad it's probably the last from that mine. You know they are so rare because nobody knew that they were pineapples until last century. I saw someone in canada found a meteorite with at least 6grams of rhodium and myself have a depleted natural green topaz, there are so many extremely rare finds lately it really surprises me. Another guy found a lump of ambergris that killed a whale because it couldn't expell it because of the size.. many people finding treasures lately
