“Young Guns Opal Hunters”
This week I had the fantastic opportunity to witness some history in the making.
In my father Graeme Dowton’s ‘Naatji’s Nest’ opal mine, I was present for the discovery of not only one of the finest opal pineapple specimens ever found, but also a World First. Three pieces…

Love you guys but this is old footage.
Sorry……
Dirty and dangerous work, well done
How much is that worth?
Watching you drive that loader makes me think you’ve done that before.
Museum specimen quality?
The three sisters obviously.
They looks a little different when polished.😁
The biggest in THE WORLD? How does he know that when it’s still half buried. Huge claims. Congrats nonetheless looks like a beauty!
How far can you dig like this without thinking/worrying about a collapse?
How many times have you hit your head backing up that loader?
please post a photo or vid of the finished product!
Every opal is one of a kind and that's why it's my favourite silica gem ❤
Graeme how come you didn't let me use a hammer when I was on your mine tour. Would've saved me getting all blistered up looking for those damned pineapples on my knees mate. I could've done a quicker job of it with the Makita.
Dino Egss?
Congratulations.
Have you done a video on how to build that digger you have? That would be a money maker.
Amazing, NC USA 🇺🇸
Wowsers I bet that will have a long price tag on it when it is ready lol. Amazing find & well done.
This is so cool! Just seeing the excitement on his face tells you it's incredibly rare. The three pineapples also have very round shapes to them, congratulations!
Hey mate looks like you could use some sort of buggy or a cart in that mine of yours at least a wheel barrow.
Does anyone know what happened to the giant emerald cluster that sat in the LA sheriff dept? It was like 39 lbs.
Seeing how desiccated the strata are in this mine, I'm beginning to think that the jeweler on Guam who told us we needed to keep our opals near a source of humidity was subscribing to an urban myth. My late wife kept fancy salt cellars filled with water in the curio cabinet, because of this.
Ball Park cost? Over 100k? Just guessing
Diggin' that out, my adrenaline would be goin' nuts..😁😁😁
How do you power the hydraulics? 😮 it's so quiet
WOW‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
“ hi I’m Rick from pawn Stars and I will give you $50 for it! I take all the risk!”
Nice sharing Vidio…Very useful and informative …🇮🇩😍🌺💎🙏👍👍
Did you realise there was lots of opel all around on the floor & in the front of the wall?
That last part makes me enthusiastic again for dremeling opal myself 🙂
Congratulations with the pineapple 'plate'. Really cool. Sad it's probably the last from that mine. You know they are so rare because nobody knew that they were pineapples until last century. I saw someone in canada found a meteorite with at least 6grams of rhodium and myself have a depleted natural green topaz, there are so many extremely rare finds lately it really surprises me. Another guy found a lump of ambergris that killed a whale because it couldn't expell it because of the size.. many people finding treasures lately
Thanks For Sharing😊USA❤
Absolutely amazing
Is that the white cliffs of dover😂, I cant believe how much opal areas ther is south Australia, nsw, and Queensland
The digger moves like a wounded Terminator…
