I don’t think I’d risk it without a respirator and a metal detector and a pin pointer. Remember they didn’t have metal detectors in the 1920s. Imagine how much they left behind they couldn’t find. They abandoned all these mines allover the country and all they had to determine they were empty was will power and hand tools.

Can you give some info on the geology of the the sides of the tunnel? On video it looks like either brecciated material or the large river rock of an ancient river.

I’ve seen that Portrait of that mining character in a couple of different YouTube videos from other mine explorers . Seems he was a pretty popular fellow , or the guy who drew him with his carbide light moved around a lot in the various mining districts.
