That’s awesome!⛏️
Ive thought about getting a geiger counter see if i picked up any hot rocks.
Nope. Not asbestos.
Asbestos gets a really bad rap unless it's in particle form it's not that dangerous of a mineral malachite for crying out loud is made out of it
Another killer is cinnabar although it's beautiful
Nice Tiger eye! My grandparents came from Ruthglen and used to spend their holidays gem hunting.
Mmmm asbestos!
How much gold do you own?
You missed a golden opportunity to edit in Gordon Ramsey shouting RAW on cue 😂❤
what "type" of gold is that. It looks like actual rock the structure of if. not reef spikey or river rolled.
Our Aussie tiger's eye was popular in the USA, mid 20th century. We've a lovely pair of Hickock's 22ct plated cufflinks, rectangles of tiger's eye. In the original box, with tag saying "Australian Tiger's Eye".
Luckily most radioactive isotopes in Victoria have leached out to sea, like all our Iodine, explains that need for adding to salt. It's lack hurty thyroid.
"Science!" (She blinded me!)
Onya Chris. Cheers, Gabi.
The tigers eye and hematite piece you have there is worth a small fortune to the crystal healing peoples.
Its pretty rare to get that mixture , usually in shops you only get Tigerseye or hematite but the polished mixture of the two is very rare….
Thats actually 'tiger iron'. Tiger eye has to have a preponderance of, well, tigereye.
Tigers eye quartz is made up of quartz with intergrown fibers of amphibole that were altered to golden or rusty-brown limonite.
It does contain asbestos but because it is encapsulated within the quarts it's not possible for dust or fibers to escape into the atmosphere when cutting polishing grinding or sanding so it's not as dangerous as it sounds.
Ooohhh, I want the garnets. 😄
Varnish that killer
Good old asbestos. I remove it for a living in Adelaide. Never knew it was in tigers eye.
Cool
Just a little clarification, it's actually a pseudomorph of asbestos, its like a fossil where silica has come in and replaced the asbestos but the structure remains, not as dangerous as you might think
I found a gold and platinum meteorite ..where do you recommend I get it tested and sold?.. please
I never knew that. But add gravity to most of those rocks and you got plenty that can kill you.
