I've very recently switched my home network from a pair of hardware Fortigates to a pair of OPNSense firewalls running on two differnet Proxmox servers. My day job is networking so I've spent decades desinging, configuring & supporting Cisco, Palo & Fortigates yet I'm rather impressed with OPNSense, I'm even more impressed with how well it runs as a VM. Thanks for the detailed guide, it was very interesting especially when you were getting unexpected CARP erros 😎
