  1. Linux is massive, I can see why there’d be a concept for security debt. The sheer amount of versions, imbedded systems, apis, services, configuration files, commands and options would make anyones head spin before you even begin to think about, okay but is this thing actually secure? Like I started with networking certs and now I’m trying out the RHCSA and I’m running into concepts I’ve never heard before like SElinux requiring context labels for certain things like the files in a HTTPD root directory. If I didn’t take the RHCSA and got a job as a system admin, well I’d be woefully unprepared to set up a website securely even with a background in networking from the CCNA to know what ports to use for the secure version of DNS, http, etc

  2. Basically everyone has totally lost their minds with regards to systems and technology. Everything is far too complex and nobody can really manage it. Nor are there nearly enough skilled people either on the IT or development sides for almost anything to be done properly.
