  1. hmmm i found the supervised install instructions very easy to follow on a vanilla debian 12 install bare metal or vm, its my defualt goto install procedure wheenver i want to install HA, recently used it to restore a ha backup from a pi 3 onto this type of install with no issues

  2. I don't know what an "add-on" specifically means, but I run HASS in either Docker or Podman and use HACS for extra modules just fine. I don't know if the Zimaboard supports Fedora IOT, but it's self-updating and difficult to screw up (the whole Linux is a complete image file that mounts read-only). That's how I do it in a VM. I had trouble getting HASS OS to work.
