This is just a basic setup in Proxmox, There is a whole lot more to be done to setup a working OMV Server. It's better on bearmetal not as a VM. Thats my thoughts. I run OMV on a Dell server works great ! As for Proxmox I also use it as a test server.
Don't use OMV. It has serious security issues and core devlopers don't wat to fix them
What is the advantage of OMV over an SMB share in Linux (VM or standalone)?
@virtualizeeverything to get the direct URL do this steps. 1) Hit download. 2) after the download started cancel it. 3) get the URK from your browser downloads log: select "Downloads" from your browser menu, and "copy the URL". It eorks on 99% cases.
I hope this will be useful. Especially in cases when the Proxmox server is not in the lical network, and you have slow connection to it's webUI.
I use Open Media Vault as a VM in Proxmox and setup NFS and SMB shares to use for Proxmox VM's. Backups to NFS shares work fine but backups to SMB shares fails at times and hangs processes in Proxmox.
