Very good tips for beginners or ppl that have their nas just sit there. Also NGINX proxy manager in docker on Synology β€
Excellent video Frank! I would also throw in iSCSI that allow the NAS to become a datastore for VMWARE ESXI for example
Excellent video, do you know not to store old mails on container? and how to set a virtualBrowser through container?
Paperless NGX – amazing for document management, installed as a Docker container.
So quiet …
Excellent video!! Thanks.. Consise, to the point with no fluff.. Great stuff..
I wish they build a NAS to storage files and to use it as a cloud. Nothing more. All those unwanting things I do not need but must pay for…
Great ideas!

How come you didnt mention brilliant Surveillance Station?
Here are a couple of ideas for utilizing virtual machines :
1) if your workplace has an app that everyone needs to use but only occasionally, run it on a virtual machine and allow everyone login rights. That will save the cost of a licence for everyone.
2) If you need an app to run 24/7, run it on a virtual machine.
3) If you need to run Linux ( or just try it out ), run it on a virtual machine.
4) If you are regularly trying out apps on your Windows desktop and then deleting them, create a Windows virtual machine and run them there. ( I also have a QNAP NAS and do this there.) Take a snapshot before installing the app; test the app; and then revert to the old Windows instance to avoid problems where Windows does not fully uninstall unwanted apps.
thx for good content as always!, Tailscale working perfect on my Synology NAS, but for u who is struggeling to get plex server to work on a synology nas and tailscale with ports and upnp closed in your router, the only way for me was to put the tailscales ip on the server and the port number (https://100.***.***.**:32400) in to the "custom server access URLs" in plex server
ABB is excellent as a client but man , itβs been 3 months that Iβm trying to boot on my PC and my laptop their usb boot rescue device. On my PC the ABB boots but thereβs a error and it says thereβs not network device driver. On my Lenovo laptop , the usb key doesnβt boot. I will open a ticket at Synology for sure π my first real problem since December. A small one but everything else is perfect and rock solid.
