You CAN use ZFS Replication from Proxmox to TrueNAS, but SHOULD you?

In this video, I describe how to configure ZFS replication between TrueNAS SCALE and Proxmox VE, for systems using local ZFS storage. In theory, by keeping data in ZFS the entire time, we can rely on the lightweight ZFS snapshots and incremental send features to reduce the disk and network load during backups, as compared to a native Proxmox VZDump backup. While this system can synchronize VM and CT disks very efficiently, you lose all of the VM metadata and configuration stored in Proxmox. So, yes it works, but it’s incomplete.
