  1. Thirty years ago, paper notebooks and calculators were getting stolen and lost all the time. Or the dog ate them, etc. And now it is being implied that these parents and people running the schools are thinking that Ipads will fare any differently?

  2. Time to replace teachers with A.I. and make students buy their own computers! Don't give me that poverty stuff.. Most have big screen TVs and drive new cars because they get SNAP and free school breakfast and lunch!

  3. Sure, keep handing out Apple devices, the most expensive portable electronics available on the market. Absolutely not a case of school boards being loose with money that isn't theirs, definitely a case of sparing no expense on whatever makes the kids the most smarterest.
Give them cheap Android tablets FFS. These kids don't need a whole ass iPad.

  4. 😅 The school was not smart enough to write down the IP addresses of all the electronic devices that gave to the children..😮 That seems like it would be mandatory what IP address Went to what child. The school should know this

  5. How is it difficult to keep track of these purchases the tax payers bought? Why does MN have so much fraud? We were supposed to get tax rebates and they of course never showed up.

  6. At least it's consistent; no consequences ! I have a family member that's a float teacher and she told me that most of these kids can't even do the work for the grade level they're in (heck, you have to go down MULTIPLE grade levels for them to even have a chance). BTW, don't come with that "Covid set them back" excuse,,,,, they were failing HARD even before 2020. Most of the teachers that tried to enforce turning in assignments and requiring PASSING scores on exams found themselves out of a job.

  7. Wow, what did you expect? For them to be returned in equal condition, or even at all?

Here is a solution. Treat these as criminal cases. Student and parents have to sign off, and if it isn't returned, it is treated as stolen property. Oh but let me guess, that somehow targets low income students.
