  2. Great to see you're uploading again! I purchased another Basic license for a future build, and as I understand it, the upgrade path will also be grandfathered. Do you know if upgrade costs are also grandfathered? I

  3. Oh, Thanks! I was planning to move from OMV to Unraid before watch the video, but with this changes in licenses, i think maybe Truenas is a better option for me. I dont mind to pay for a license, but pay yearly is too much.

  4. I have the serious impression, that they started to prepare us to pay for the use of Unraid. They are not the first one to do like this … We first test there product for years … And when ready, we will have to pay for it. Is it time to find another similar product ??

  5. Every company that has changed their licensing to subscriptions have eventually screwed over older users on the old licenses.

Unraid WILL do this. We NEED to keep pushing back on this change.

  6. The license changes are enough for me to no longer recommend Unraid to anyone. If we weren't being grandfathered in I would by ditching it immediately as well.

I still plan to move off of Unraid at some point in the future though.

  7. Since I updated to 6.12.8 I have had about 2 day of uptime before my docker containers start having server errors causing me to delete the docker.img and rebuilding. I have also upgraded to a 14500 and z690 with 64Gb ram all memchecked passed. Doing my head in. I have the docker patch from the ca store as well.

  8. Really enjoying using Unraid for years now and happy to hear that existing licence owners won't be screwed over. I notice that the community has also been growing and love all the setup videos/articles of useful apps, plugins and dockers. They have helped to make my server even more useful over the years!

I've also used the server on two different hardware platforms and the switch was super easy as everything was literally plug and play. Unraid is so flexible and well thought out that I see myself not switching away from it!

  9. Re: #7, I'd read through the release notes, and hadn't seen anything about array performance in there – would you be able to point me in the right direction for some documentation on that one by chance? Array performance has been one of the things that's long been something of a 'known cost' of UnRAID, just something one accepts as a necessary result of having all your data protected across disparate drive sizes / filesystems / etc.

If there's a performance benefit, that just might be the bit of a push I need to give the update a shot!

  10. The Limetech vid discussing community engagement sold me on Unraid. Bought a Pro license. Your vids are excellent! I struggled with Truenas scale and nonexistent community support. Hope to get *arr apps setup soon following your vids and TRaSH guides.
