  1. If you are interested in creating more UnRaid content – here's a few points that I do not understand very well that may help others as well: – If one would like to use all SSD – could you skip the caching drives and put that $$ towards more or larger SSDs in the array? – What is this "trim" thing with SSD? Is this something to be concerned about? – If I want to install Windows – does it go in the array or do I need a separate drive?

  2. I just built a very similar system with an MSI Z790 motherboard and i7-14700K. I had some stability issues where it would become non-responsive with a black screen after running a couple days. I just thought I'd let you know that a BIOS update fixed that problem for me in case you run into any issues. I noticed that your BIOS is dated for October 2023, which is what mine had when I bought it but there are some 2024 updates on MSI's website.

  3. those samsung nvme drives run hot, you're good. I'd say throw a nvme heatsink on it and then you can ditch the fan if you want. It'll throttle itself. Love seeing what you're up to as always.

  4. My cache drives are a a ZFS mirror (2 SSD's) pop up to 56 C quite often. I wondered the same thing on the tempatures and would like to know what's hot and whats not. Love the channel!

  5. I purchased a Pro license of UnRaid so I would be grandfathered in. I hate subscriptions and most are deal-breakers for me. Can you tell us the wattage draw of your new server – drives spun up v/s drives spun down?
