Hasta donde yo sé, RAID1 (Data Mirroring) también debe sincronizar sus miembros tras su construcción, como RAID5… El "truco" es q DSM (de Synology) lo hace en segundo plano y sin informar al usuario, lo cual, implica la pérdida de rendimiento temporal debido a dicho proceso, tanto en escritura como lectura. ASUSTOR informa (en ADM) al usuario de dicho proceso y de su tiempo estimado. Personalmente, prefiero la transparencia, y creo q Synology debería informar también de este hecho (q es meramente temporal), dado que sino las primeras pruebas de rendimiento pueden inducir a error (dado q el volumen funciona sólo a "medio gas").
