it would be great if someone would make a step by step detailed tutorial for people like me on how to configure this nas correctly. ๐
Thank you for showing these new technologies/devices. Although I don't need it, I enjoy learning about what's out there today. I started in the industry in the late 70's on main frames with disc drives the size of washing machines lol.
It costs around ยฃ200.
What you Guys lets look at something you don't need or can afford but will help me because I have become a paid schill. Yada Yada Yada
Great video Brian! thanks for sharing with us' Unraid is a great OS i been using it for years i run all my windows and linux vms in it works great ๐๐๐JP
Hmm Brian not something that I would need to use but it certainly looks to e a nice quality build. The only thing that would put me off a bit would be the cost of all those drives that you would need to install. I am just a bit confused as to why it needs two PCi Express drives and also the storage SSD's? Plus it also needs that upgrade stuff I am guessing to get more performance out of the unit.
Britec, what are the best operating systems that are very light in size and can be perfect to use as virtual machines?
unraid is the best, using it for the last 20 years! ๐
The website claims "The World-First 6-Bay Full SSD NAS Is Coming"; but ASUSTOR has the FLASHSTOR 6 FS6706T and the FLASHSTOR 12 Pro FS6712X. The ASUSTOR are "buyable" today.
Cool little device and if the price stays the same will be worth thinking about
Maybe itโs too off topic. But you fail to explain why it is called Unraid, that is uses a very unique way of creating redundancy with the disks.
Great but then add on the costs of the drives, as would normal with any other, gives another ยฃ600+ on it, so could be about ยฃ1000 depending on drives. I still like it being all SSD though, preferable to "spinning rust"!
I thought ssds didn't really work well for unraid since you can't run trim commands on them
You mentioned price was 250 USD, know they want 600 USD for it, and it is reorder….
This is what I've been waiting for.Thank you.
