I love unraid. I subscribe to you for Framework content, but im happy to watch some unraid content.
This is some nice and different content. It's very applicable to many of us.
I was very frustrated with the disk swapping procedures in Unraid.
They legitimately suffer due to a missing wizard or similar guided process. As it is, they have a lot of hidden state under the hood, and if you make oh so small deviations from the steps you should do (which they only describe to you in very general terms in official documentation) all progress gets thrown away, which can easily have been a 1 day long procedure if you've got large enough drives. And you don't get any errors which can point you at what you did wrong.
This and the very much "not meant to manually interfere" nature of their container management make me kind of wonder how things would've been had I used TrueNAS Scale (if it had been available when I set up my NAS).
nice machine!
