Any tips to use less ram with VSAN on NUC ?

Wondering what services I could possibly disable to use less ram. I have 3 NUCs with 16GB RAM and after enabling vsan, hosts are using 8gb. With only 16gb total, I can’t even run vCenter now. I’m using a 128gb cache and 256gb capacity disks both ssds.
Any tips?

  1. vCenter will still run if you decrease the memory allocated to it, just with somewhat degraded performance (especially boot time).

In my homelab, I ultimately added a 4th NUC and upgraded all hosts to 32 GB of memory to give myself enough RAM wiggle room for my VMs.
