Jellyfin is the way to go imo. It's very widely supported and works great remotely with Wireguard. It's so smooth and light. I used Emby before it was Emby and was just a Windows Media Center addon, then went to Emby, tried Plex and it was way too heavy, then moved to Jellyfin and I couldn't be happier.
I run it in a docker container on Unraid with 2 standalone NTFS drives passed through to the Jellyfin container with read only access, just in case I ever wanna pull those disks out I can access the content in Windows.
Not really familiar with vpns but from what i gather they use a data limit like a mobile data plan,
with that in mind wouldn't this use case decimate just about any vpn service?
i would love to get this running for my plex server but the whole Vpn thing seems like a losing battle to me with most files being 5+ GB.
unless im just not understanding what traffic is actually being sent through the vpn
Need Help, keeps popping up when adding indexer on prowlarr
"Unable to connect to indexer, please check your DNS settings and ensure IPv6 is working or disabled. No such host is known"
Quick Question just to be sure
if i set up the proxy inside Qbitorrent as explained, do i need to activate NordVPN or by doing it the way we did were anonymised ?
Very nice, appreciate it
It would have been great if you showed how to use the whole setup properly
Is there the option to imediatly watch a series/movie i'm looking for without having to wait for the download to end? Of course I can go to the downloads folder and open the file via VLC or something but I remember reading about watching it instantly in jellyfin or similar
Hii sir you like Tony stark
This is great! But how does the storage works?? When is downloaded they don’t move around.
I’m using Plex and the libraries go to “movies” and “shows” directly, but obviously everything is downloaded in “downloads” how is that managed?
Hello, would it be possible for you to create this tutorial for Linux Ubuntu users wia ssh
para linux debian ¿?
you didnt cover emby configuration?
I really appreciate it. Incredibly helpful. You really make as easy as humanly as possible to understand.
Hey guys and dolls, I need some help. I have a couple Chromecast Ultra's for viewing video files mostly from PC. I was playing one with VLC player casting it from the PC using VLC on my android phone. It started stuttering the video and I uninstalled VLC. Now I can't see the video files on my phone. Is there a better free app that plays "ISO" files on Android and can remotely cast and view network files from the PC? Thanks in advance for any help…
why not add the download clients to prowlarr instead of radarr sonarr separately?
Why is mulvad C tier?
Hey, I already have a vpn, would you still recommend using socks5 or would it be redundant?
note that SOCKS5 does not protect your credentials nor the overall content of the connection. while peers don't see your ip, your provider still knows (even though probably doesn't care). What's worse, your VPN login might be stolen (especially if you are connecting on the go) – it's also sad that most of the providers do not provide separate (sub)credentials for socks so you've to expose the account level one.
Use the full VPN client (both openvpn and wireguard are fully protected). possibly with split tunneling to achieve similar result.
Brilliant vid mate thank you!
I ran into an issue where when i go to add Download Client it wants a Name Username and password but i dont remember setting one up. Like i remember bnacking usernames tonight but i dont thinki did one for Radaar or sonaar and the one i did tonight isnot working an i doing something wrong? Help advice pls!
Is there a easier simple way to implement this on a app like extensions on a app like stremio.
Got me going without issue on my windows box. Grabbed an asustor NAS thinking it wouldn’t be an issue to get all these items installed, configured, and working in tandem. Boy was I wrong. I may just have to handle the downloads and file renames on windows and then ship them over to the NAS for Plex hosting.
is there a reason why you didn't use the download client within Prowlarr?
qbittorrent has a status of stalled when it attempts to download anything? Any solution?
This video is exactly the type of noob guide I needed to get set up with my old PC. Thank you!
why you need all this when you have Streamio, Torrentio and RD? I'm honestly new to all this and sorry if this is a dumb question. I've been using my own plex only
do i now need to download the movies from Radarr and the tv from Sonarr or can i just Downlaod them from prowlarr
all thats next is how to use jellyseer on this setup and this is pretty much perfect i hope you try this next cuz this guide was perrrrrrrrrrrrrrfect got my stuff up and running
Do you think its best to have some cheap PC dedicated just as a media server for this?
What do I put on host and port if i'm not using VPN? Localhost doesn't work even when I change the port to the one qbittorrent is using…
in sonarr i get "name must not be empty" when linking to qbittorrent.
"permission denied" on all trackers and cannot download, I followed the instructions exactly
Can you please help me , When I download stuff it stays in the download folder and also where to serach from prowler itself or Sonarr or Radarr?
Why was Overserr not included?
It would've been really cool to start with the or at least show the end product working together and the use case.
Like, I'm a bit confused how this is all used? Is it only working on your computer?
If I go to jellyfin on my TV I won't be able to fetch anythign or will I have to open the browser on my TV, navigate to local host for sonnarr and search for a show there then go back to jellyfin and load it?
I guess it's useful for shows which come out on a weekly basis you want to automatically download but other than that?
If so ,it will probably take me less time to just login to a torrent website and download the show to the jelly fin folder on my PC.
Thanks, this helped improve my current setup when I didn't know sh#t before. Prowlarr and qb are much better than what I was using. Too bad emby isn't on all my TV's in the house so I still have to use Plex unfortunately.
Yo Tom, ExpressVPN now claims they have 8+ connections, update the shore.
I was looking at the TG pro option and saw the 10GBit option as an add on and was wondering if it was worth it in your opinion
