So, I need a new machine for the sound studio. Looking at a mac mini m2pro 16gb, would it worth the wait for the new mac minis? For video I have the mac studio m2max (but thats in a different location).
You´ve been using a much brighter desktop background with the M2 Pro. I´m wondering if the battery time had been better with the same darf desktop background as on the M3 Pro?

I have a 2019 macbook pro with 8 GB of RAM and an i5. I’m planning to upgrade for an M3 pro with 18 GB of RAM. When I bought the 2019 macbook, it was enough for my daily tasks, but now I’m at uni, and I’m programming every single day. I’m trying to get into app development and it’s just not enough.
I get stuck on the fact that M2 Pro's 16gb ram is 200gb/s and M3 Pro's 18gb ram is 150gb/s. Which is actually better in terms of ram?? Less information can travel at once with M3, .. but it can.. store more information to be used at any given time compared to M2.. am I understanding this correctly?
Which would you recommend, the base MBP M3 Pro chip with 11‑core CPU, 14‑core GPU, 18GB Unified Memory, with 512GB or a refurbished 14-inch MacBook Pro Apple M2 Pro Chip with 12‑Core CPU and 19‑Core GPU, 16GB Memory, and 1TB? I could get the M3 Pro version today for Black Friday for $2,180 vs the M2 Pro for $2,362.

I bought the M3 Max 40core and man! It runs No Man Sky in ultra @ 120FPS Sick!!! Now we just need AAA games ported to Macs. I would like to see Madden and NBA 2k in Steam.
quite a bit late to leave a comment but… is the M3 Pro battery life really improving or just because it is using the black background ( cause is mini-LED so that will make a huge different technically

Hi. I have a choice between 14" m1 max 64ram/2tb or 16" m1 max 32ram/1tb(they are both at the same price). I've got m1 14" 16ram/512gb on which i am using Mainstqge3 . It looks like 16ram is not enough for me. It is 5gb project (with many vsts n plugins), and was wondering ,if 64ram will make that much of a difference over the 32ram?

So in reality no difference. If you are grown man you'll still get a silver one, and the difference is perfomance can be find only stack those computers side by side. So get a m2 pro and iphone , instead of m3pro 😀
It would be more relevant if you compare m3 pro with m1 pro and intel models.
I switched from M2 Pro to M3 Pro with the same configuration. It's very clear that the speed is much faster, more powerfull. I don't understand this kind of videos…
how did apple rate these the same in battery life and you guys ended up with such a big difference?
M3 is IMO not a full upgrade. It’s more of a side step while they revise the architecture. Now they have optimised and improved the GPU part of the M chips, M4 will be the full upgrade.
Wish you compared XCode, and also the 11 vs 12 core m3 pro.

I would also have had a base level Fan speed set on both those machines, as You can clearly see you show that the Fans OFF at the top. MacFAN does a good job as pushing a RPM set speed for both fans in either macbook. My M1 Pro, I always have running at around 2400 RPM on both fans. Its not audible enough to worry you and it at least keeps airflow through the chassis.
