Willy, some important news for you and all your listeners/watchers on here – DSM 7.2 has flaws, and I'm not just talking of the beta release, but the 'full fat' version. It doesn't integrate with Firefox correctly, and has a >4GB file upload limit! (see my other post from 4 days ago for the details) Synology, finally, after many many msg back n forth, with their corporate 'heads in the sand', not acknowledging it, have finally accepted the flaw and are now attempting to fix it. I have to say, their customer 'support' has been a frustrating, annoying and time wasing experience. I won't be 'updating' until they fix it with the next update release, IF it's fixed in the next update!
Shame they still don’t support nvme volumes on all hardware. I have 2tb of nvme on my rackstation that I can only use as cache.
SSO setup with Azure AD is a nice addition.
Upgraded my DS1819+ and DS418 without issues. I should try some of the features I can on the DS418 but I need to upgrade to bigger disks in that system as the volume is 91% full. The DS1819+ is mainly for Proxmox storage so no real benefits with 7.2 out of the gate. Last thing I need is a qcow2 file becoming immutable while the VM is running. 😂
Sounds like it is discontinuing apps like the Camera app. Techs I know are dumping Synology on their supported machines.
I’m guessing when I upgrade it will auto rename my docker to container manger or do I have 2 apps until I remove docker no one is explaining that point just it got renamed
