In Bedrock you can use a water bucket instead of a trapdoor!
I got to be honest i tried this method for like an hour and didnt find any diamonds at all, i gave up and went down to -58 with a normal strip mine and in the next half hour found 12 diamonds, because they get more common the farther down they go i would recommend going to the bottom instead, even if there. Is a lot of lava pools i think its more worth it

I honestly don't understand the whole "1×1 mining is more efficient" thing in this video. Sure, you use less durability, but at the same time, you never know if the diamonds are going to be above block 1 or whatever. I just don't see how this makes your chances of finding diamonds any higher.
