I hope you were on a VM, because your PC is screwed.
On Windows 11, If you remove DWM.exe file, then the screen is fully black
If you delete dwm.exe on windows 7 then it will stay as the basic theme
I think its the same in vista
You can succesfully remove dwm and ACTUALLY boot into windows 10 with the windows 7 basic theme.
Windows 10: Replace dwm with another executable, rundll32 works and itll trick windows
Next up remove Systemapps in the windows folder
And finally to have a working login screen, remove windows.ui.logon.dll to enable console login.
Windows 11: Replace dwm with another executable, rundll32 works and itll trick windows
Remove sihost
Remove windows.ui.logon.dll to have a working login screen in console mode
Remove dwmcore.dll to have the cursor back
You can also, if you want to, remove Resources in windows folder to get the classic theme after all of this, and then use an old theme edit ui from old windows or edit the registry to edit the theme.
