Of course, alternatives are the key. So many good shoes in this category that are about US$50 cheaper. I've got over 600 miles in the Deviate Nitro 2 and it's still great.
Ugly, overpriced, and heavy. Jog on, On.
Meanwhile today the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 is $134 AUD (69 Pounds/$80 US) here in Australia from the official Puma site. Value for money is still out there.

Prices of running shoes are getting out of control. It´s a journey on how to make a shoe and then sell it for a higher price than anyone else
Other than the ASICS Superblast, I can’t think of a non plated shoe that’s worth $200. Sorry ON, not getting my money this time.
