What do YOU think is the #1 hilariously bad Sonic boss fight?
I remember I got to team rose boss I blicked or got distracted due to it bf somehow won
I think fang mk2 is a fun boss fight it's just that the difficulty curve is a bit shocking. Oh yeah and screw the the pterodactyl from trips story it's so rng annoying
Suprised you didn’t mention the cakewalk that was the Sonic CD Palmtree Panic Fight. It’s so easy that it isn’t even A cakewalk, it’s A Muffintiptoe.
i'm surprised you didn't mention the constant spam from the other characters going "Its a HOMING SHOT!" during the Time Eater boss, I get that characters repeat lines sometimes but it is annoying lol
Man that silver boss has to be hilarious
Cool video, @chaomix! 👍 Could you make a video called "Top 65 Crazy Sonic Boss Battles"?
TIL people feel they got mad skillz for tolerating superstar's boss fights
not defending it because it deserves the hate it gets, but the silver boss fight is actually super easy if you just spin dash
its too fast for him to catch you, gets you a nice distance away from him and collects rings as you go
it's pretty funny because this is the only time I can think of where the spindash was good in 06
This video overly conflates fast bosses with bad bosses. The core of Sonic is skill growth through learning and experience. I much prefer bosses in Sonic that let me deal with them quickly using my mastery to ones that stick around too long. Sonic CD has my favorite bosses in the classic series since if you know what you're doing they can be done with in the blink of an eye. A fight in a first time playthrough versus a tenth playthrough look very different. As an example, for the underwater boss you mentioned 1) You skip mentioning the first phase which with good routing can be extremely sped up, and the second phase can be finished without grabbing a majority of the bubbles.
In comparison Sonic Mania has a bunch of bosses that take way too long and reduce my desire to replay the game. I'm not defending those character fights in adventure though, those things have no substance.
Were there any other pre-Adventure bosses you'd considered for this? Cuz I feel like the original Labyrinth Zone chase and that stupid antlion from the second 8-bit game are more than worthy of being here
I've Put Like Hours On, Knight, I Practiced Perfect Parry Before Final Horizon, So It Took Me Just At max 4 Tries To Finish The Update
The final bosses and trip's story makes Sonic Superstars the dark souls of the classic era Sonic games
it kinda sucks that time eater and rotatatron are here cuz they have such cool ass designs
honestly as an aspirating dev myself i can say the most universal advice is offense to venerability time.
think something like most 3d zelda bosses. you have to compete with their attacks to land a hit. where their stunned for a few seconds while you whale on them. if most of your boss fight it the enemy writhing on the ground…not to fun.
"I can't get behind Colors' bad writing"
"Sonic Generations is part of my top 3 Sonic games"
Does bro hear himself? They have the same writing quality, just say you don't like the platforming!
I actually talk a little bit about this in my video! The boss fight with Knuckles in Sonic 3 & Knuckles is so badly designed that it actually completely changes Knuckles's character, and I can prove that he's actually a trickster, not a warrior. Give it a lookie loo if that sounds up your alley! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nxf2e-tFxc
nice video
I never thught about the rivals in SA1 as Bosses, they do not even appear in the Boss Rush Modes. They were more like its own little rival interactive fight scene. (do not disagree on including them on bad battles though).
Video on bad Sonic bosses and no section on Rush? That was my go-to example of most bothersome bosses in the series until I completed Superstars.

persona 3
So, are we getting a part 3 to the project shadow horrors videos once sonic x shadow generations comes out? I mean i assume we'll be getting more details given black doom is back, and the bio lizard.
Why no, "It's no use", audio? 🙁
Long live the “Oh No!” And “It’s no use!” Boss fights. Great vid btw!
It never even registered to me until now that the rival fights in Heroes counted as "boss fights", idk what I thought they were but I just never saw those as true "boss fights" in comparison to other games I'd played by that point in my very young life.
Also Silver was an absolute frikken menace in the Sonic storyline omfg, my friend and I probably had to play for an hour straight to finally get past this, and to this day I truly believe it was Luck or the game just taking pity on us cuz idk how we ever beat him, I just know one of us did eventually since we played thru all 3 stories together 😅😂
Sonic Colors first boss was completely forgettable; literally loved Colors to pieces and I completely didn't recognize that boss at all…
(Really hoping if you do the Best Boss Fights that Battle will be mentioned, fingers crossed)
