Since the dudes he plays with don't exactly know what they're talking about in regards to anti-cheat: Helldivers 2 does have kernel level rootkit anti-cheat called Gameguard. The developers have stated that it "shouldn't" cause issues, but it's still very invasive anti cheat & is already tanking performance on some PCs & most notably the Steam Deck. This game, while good, is something to still be wary of when any game wants that even if it supposedly goes away if you uninstall the game. It's very hard to get it running on the deck right now & it doesn't seem like there's a workaround.
Tempted to pick this up but unfortunately my life is a far cry from my uni days, ain't got no one to play with now and this strikes me as something that won't work with randoms!

Thank God for the youtube comments section because if it didnt exist id have no clue what game im watching.
Jeez you had some bad luck on ur trav runs. I always run trav barb to start a season and usually have a high rune within a few 100 runs. Albeit find item finds alot of runes
Probably the most fun multiplayer game I’ve played in a very long time the gameplay loop has not gotten old yet and I played all yesterday and plan on playing more today
