Bitmain X5 shall be rendered ineffective.
X5s are more efficient, but that is it, and honestly, not even at all (these things are not ASICs). Zeph is a pre-mine, and anyone holding THAT bag is for the rug-pull.
That did not take long. Good thing these X5s did not demonstrate ASIC magnitudinal superiority over the status quo miner types.
Attention ! The news section on Unmineable says as of the 18th anyone mining the Random X algo on Unmineable will be making 6x more money because they've switched from XMR to Zeph. There's where your Zeph hashrate spike is coming from and probably not from any new X5 Firmware. You're welcome.
My 5950x making over $3 today. I really hope that the X5 doesn’t screw CPU mining. ASICs already screwed GPU Miners.

x5 not a big deal, i can build 2 256 thread epyc rigs for about 2600 each canadian, draws about the same power does a bit less hash as the x5 and is a bit cheaper to build plus im not stuck with one or two coins.
So speculation at this point. From what I can see the increase in zeph hashrate is equal to the loss in xmr hashrate plus new/existing rigs turning on. 39% of 1.3gh/s is 507mh/s so evel to 2.5 x5's turning on. This is FUD….

there's even profit calculators shows that x5 can get a profit of about 3 dollers by mining XMR
There's a great chance that x5 will support RandomX but sadly i'm too broke to afford one
Chips in X5 are RISC Soc so basically x5 is an asic with multiple super-tiny computer in it, with proper hardware it could mine every cpu coin(unless something need huge RAM space)
I mine on ZEPHYR processors but do not store it but exchange it for other tokens. But I'm not very happy with these ASICs😑😆

Microsoft Defender Antivirus has gone on a total bender to delete XMrig about 5 days ago, so I really think its lots of botnets to the extent MSFT knows about XMRig being an epidemic currently. Been mining for over two years on windows and its NEVER been like this. Some PCs every day will quarantine xmrig. I am experimenting with adding exclusions starting yesterday but I think MSFT will bypass antivirus exclusions too.
ASICS destroy mining, and the whole ASIC scene is crooked. I’m done with this nonsense. Same as what happened with Helium two years ago.

The rumours you are talking about will become facts in future.
That's what I exactly said yesterday. The big bosses pump the coin price and make it profitable so lot of people buy old hardware at price even higher than MRP, once they feel everyone in the companies ecosystem got good profits they dump the prices.
Result end users now have hardware which is not profitable and no one wants to buy it.

when monero switch to randomx v2 zeph will also follow so antminer will be useless.

Do you have a way to setup a CPU mining rig on Nicehash with the RandomX algo? I wanted to try to use Zeph there but it appears all they have is XMR.
Would be an early Christmas gift for us all who got first batch!! But knowing Bitmain's motto you're spot on with theory that they could be pumping ZEPH and adding firmware support to just only boost the price they can sell future X5 batches at
