It's a hell of a rabbit hole, I have a server with 24x 18tb drives, another with 12x 12tb drives and another with 12x 6tb drives.. Mostly plex, but I'm definitely a data hoarder now. Welcome to the sickness
Definitely interested in doing UnRAID. I have an old i7 860 based server I’m just running windows 10 on as a simple SMB share, but would love to load something like TrueNAS or UnRaid on it, and do it properly. It has an old LSI 9240-8i in it that’s been running great with the 3TB drives now for years.
good choice on the hardware, well done. As for the cookbooks: I use Tandoor. it is so easy to use and with unraid it just works.
