  1. Druvis, I like MiB when referring to memory sizes whether RAM or DISK. I assume that ROS uses K, M and G because link speeds are also decimal based. I noticed your clever use of Metric to describe the memory size units. The next time I hear someone complain that their 16TB drive is only 14.55 TB, I will have to tell them they must have accidentally bought the Metric version instead of the old school version.😄

  2. I just updated hEX S from v7.5 to v7.8 to get this feature. I added 128MiB ram disk with command /disk add type=tmpfs tmpfs-max-size=134.218M slot=ram (using tmpfs-max-size=128MiB got syntax error).
My question is: how can you save a pcap file with sniffer tool to the ram disk? I get bad filename with "ram/test.pcap", "/ram/test.pcap" and "ram:test.pcap". What I am doing wrong?

  3. Guys, if usb is a premium feature in your imagination, how about sdcard slot to every device? It is dirty cheap in production. Yes, we want to be creative and run tiny containers literaly on EVERYTHING! Please.

  4. You want to buy the flagship MikroTik router thot is always in your dreams. You are 8 years MikroTik user, you recommend MIkroTik to the companies that you work for or work with. Finally you buy the router you like most from the official distributor of MikroTik, and when you open the box, you see that the router was damaged, then neither distributor nor MikroTik replies your mails, your support requests, your phone calls, and both MikroTik and its distributor say that you should use that damaged router, but you paid full money of the new router. Would you choose MikroTik again?? I am asking it to MikroTik users. I like MikroTik products, but if you were I, would you choose MikroTik again? Would you recommend MikroTik to your friends and colleagues?

  5. Is there a way to use this for graphs, and then have a scheduled task to possibly copy to flash hourly. The hope being that it would reduce write cycles on flash.
What about dhcp lease info, especially when using short lease times.
Looks like it would be ideal for capturing pcap files with the sniffer. Both from a "preserving flash" as well as performance point of view.
